Spring 2024
This spring, we’ll focus on nurturing one of the most important lifelong skills: creativity! Classes begin the week of March 24
Focus skill: creativity
Creativity is the ability to imagine your own ideas or solutions to a problem—and then make them happen! This spring, we’ll focus on developing creative mindsets and strategies that littles can use throughout their lives to invent new things, solve problems, express their ideas and feelings, and nurture relationships. And we’ll do it all through enriching, outdoor play!
We like to talk about creativity as broken down into three core processes: breaking, bending and blending. We use these in our thinking when we come up with new ideas and problem solve, and we use them in our physical play when we create, as well! The more we can bend and break and blend with our hands, the more our brains will be able to think in that way, as well.
We’ll also dive into the idea of divergent thinking, discovering as many possible solutions to a problem—or in our case, as many ways to play—as we can, and we’ll dabble in the idea of creativity as a form of self expression.
Spring schedule
The spring season begins the week of March 24. Each class will meet weekly for nine weeks, ideally ending the week of May 19 (pending any necessary rescheduling). The Sunday season includes classes on Easter and Mother’s Day.
Classes will be rescheduled if weather conditions, a leader’s illness or other situation causes an inability to hold class on our end. Families who miss class are able to make up at another class if possible (please contact your leader to arrange any make-ups to ensure they have enough supplies), and all families enrolled in the spring season are eligible for a discount of Tinkergarten Anywhere, on-demand recorded lessons that follow the same nine-week curriculum.
